The North Cascades Highway (SR 20) was opened on September 2, 1972.
We went across it on August 18, 1973, during the first full summer it was open.

"Honeymoon Cabin (#1)" at the Stehekin River Resort.
The back door of the cabin led directly to the Stehekin River.

Hike to Horseshoe Basin
(In those days the shuttle bus went all the way to Cottonwood Camp).

Rainbow Falls
